This is one of my favorite tricks to get some rest in a packed day when I am wiped! I use this particularly when I have back-to-back clients and only have that shorter-than-10-minute break in between sessions.
Really good to allow some clearing of one person’s energy before you are exposed to the next…
You already experience how time is relative: Think about the times when it seems like time is taking FOREVER vs. when your sense is that time has flown.
On the left side of the bubble, we are going to Pre-Tend To the fact that we are going into the expanded-time bubble where (in this example) two minutes in “regular” clock time is two hours in expanded Time-Is-Relative time.
It’s kind of like letting yourself go into your own sci-fi realm.
Then Trust Your Body-Mind to do your closed-eye rest in however long your bubble time is within the designated clock time.
It is important to be playful with this. It will feel different the different times that you use it.
Physicists say that time-as-we-know-it is a human construct and not really “real.” We are actually in “All Time.”
We perceive constructs of “past” and “future” according to our culture. People around the world don’t all perceive or speak of past/present/future in the same way. Those differences affect different areas of our lives.*
Meanwhile, our healthiest moment is being fully in the always-changing moment we are in.
When I need a quick break and don’t have time even for the ideal 10-15 minute nap, I lie down on my couch, “go outside of time” for a TWO “clock time” minutes “nap.” I usually determine that that outside-of-conventional-time nap equates to 1 1/2 to 2 hours–a full sleep cycle.
And the good thing is that two clock minutes is short enough to repeat during the day as needed.
Try this out for yourself. Make modifications as needed.
Let the rest of us know what happens.
